Welcome to the first issue of "The Sentinel Star"!

New People, Process, Services

It’s been a very busy and exciting holiday season. We recently launched our re-branded website www.sentinelinnovation.com and are proud to introduce you our first edition of “The Sentinel Star”. This publication is designed to keep you current on print marketing best practices, current events and green business. We appreciate your suggestions for future topics you may find valuable. New People: In addition to a new website and this newsletter, we have welcomed new staff to the organization. Sharon Schay joined Sentinel as Vice President Marketing to compliment our experience in print production processes and high quality graphic solutions with the design of robust e-mail marketing, personalized URLs and associated personalized landing pages. Using a consultative approach, Sentinel will manage and support key components of a campaign to maximize the results of your marketing efforts. Our objective is to be your strategic partner in the concept, design and delivery of effective multi-channel direct marketing campaigns.

New Process: We now offer a new job submission platform that makes our client’s lives easier. JobDirect™ builds a high quality PDF document directly from the native environment of your computer. So we print exactly what you see! JobDirect™ works well for the production of any print project, especially those created in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Additionally, we have expanded our document management web-to-print solutions, where pre-approved static or template driven marketing materials can be customized or personalized, reviewed, approved and ordered.

New Services: Our mailing services now provide for more robust and expanded addressing features.  New equipment allows you to address on pieces up to 1/4" thick.  For example, you can now print directly on padded JiffyMailer®Products.  In addition to the standard address you can include a variable line of copy that is personalized to the recipient.. 

As we begin this New Year, we are grateful for the opportunity to deliver innovative and compelling customer communications. We look forward to showcasing your work for many years to come.

You needn’t look any further than online for a few freebies that could help save you a wad of cash – a nice bonus for the post holiday season. Check out these websites to find free services that would ordinarily cost you money.

Free 2010 Calendar: Keep track of this year with Sentinel's Calendar! Free to all our customers.

Free long-distance calls: Talkster lets you reach out and touch an actual telephone in addition to online calling options. Free long-distance and international calls require special phone numbers that talkster assigns to both you and the friend you’re calling, but once the two of you are connected, you can talk for free as long as you’d like.

Free faxes: If you need to send faxes just once in a while, check out online services such as Qipit and FaxZero.

• Qipit lets you send up to five faxes each week for free. This service allows you to use your camera phone to fax or e-mail documents when you are on the road. First you take a photo of your document, and then send it via e-mail or MMS with the desired recipients’ contact information. Qipit will fax a clear digital copy of the document to your designated recipients.
  
• FaxZero takes PDFs and Word documents, instead of sending images, which might be easier for PC-Based use.

Free video conferencing: Most chat and videoconferencing programs are free when your conversation remains between two people, but they charge you to add more. Instant messaging and videoconferencing tool TokBox eliminates that limitation so users are restricted only by their bandwidth.

Free directory assistance: Does your mobile phone carrier charge you for directory-assistance calls? Instead of dialing 411, try Google 411. Dial 800-466-4411 (800-GOOG-411). The voice recognition tool looks up numbers, addresses, nearby businesses and more for free.
